About Us

Vängåvan has been running a playground, leisure activities, and youth center privately since 1992 in Stora Essingen. We are located in a lush park environment with climbing frames, grassy areas, a splash pond, and a vibrant local engagement. Our operations serve as a meeting place for children, youth, and adults, where play, community, and participation are at the center. We collaborate closely with Essingeskolan, Lycée Français Saint-Louis, Nordic International School, local associations, and the District Administration. The main organization is the association Vängåvans Vänner, a committed parent cooperative.

About the Position

We are looking for a workplace leader who wants to help lead, drive, and further develop our operations. The position is divided between administrative responsibilities and pedagogical work in our leisure activities.

Administrative Tasks (approx. 50 %)

  • Staff planning, scheduling, and some payroll administration
  • Coordination between leisure, playground, and youth activities
  • Communication with the main organization, guardians, and partners
  • Monitoring of budget, purchases, contracts, and statistics
  • Quality work, routines, and development projects

Pedagogical Tasks (approx. 50 %)

  • Active participation in leisure activities together with middle school students
  • Creating safe, creative, and inclusive activities in play, sports, creativity, and collaboration
  • Responsible for planning and implementing activities together with other educators
  • Building relationships with children, guardians, and school staff

We are looking for someone who

  • Has education in pedagogy, leisure management, or equivalent experience
  • Has good organizational skills and enjoys responsibility
  • Is a good and attentive leader
  • Is confident, communicative, and solution-focused
  • Has an interest in children, youth, and local community engagement
  • Can work both independently and in a team
  • Has experience in administration and digital tools (Office 365, Google Workspace, etc.)
  • Experience working in cooperative operations or non-profit associations is an advantage
  • Speaks, writes, and reads Swedish and English fluently. It is an advantage if you can speak French.
