Mother Tongue Teacher in Greek

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will teach mother tongue Greek. Your responsibilities include lesson planning, teaching, follow-up, evaluation, communication with guardians, and grading. You provide students with the guidance and stimulation they need in their learning and personal development based on their individual circumstances. You will be part of a work team and collaborate with colleagues, teachers, and other staff at the school.

The teaching of the mother tongue aims to develop the student’s knowledge of and about their mother tongue. Access to their own mother tongue also facilitates the student’s language development and learning in other subjects. Within our operations, we actively work with various digital platforms, accessibility, and collegial learning.

As a mother tongue teacher, you are responsible for each student’s education in their mother tongue in the teaching groups assigned to you. Other tasks may also occur, and the content and conditions of the work may change over time. Teaching is primarily scheduled for Thursday afternoons.

QUALIFICATIONS

For the position, you are required to have a Swedish teaching qualification and be well acquainted with the school’s governing documents such as the Education Act and curriculum. You should have good knowledge of the Swedish language and the language you will be teaching. Furthermore, you have documented previous experience in mother tongue teaching and a good understanding of the opportunities and challenges of bilingualism.

The municipality applies individual salary setting. Start date by agreement.

The position is a temporary employment of 15% until August 12, 2026.
