We are looking for a project manager for design at Trafikverket with a station in Umeå.

The position is full-time.

The assignment involves close cooperation with the client, which places high demands on flexibility and collaboration skills.

The Assignment

The E4 bypass project in Skellefteå is currently in the phase of developing a road plan. The project's ambition is to begin the work of preparing the procurement documents for the execution contract in parallel with the work on the road plan. The procurement documents will likely consist of several different contracts. The assignment consists of supporting project management with design management within the framework of developing the road plan and procurement documents.Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, and follow up the design process considering time, budget, content, quality, and risk.
• Systematically work with the project's risks.
• Systematic work with the project's control program.
• Represent Trafikverket regarding design issues towards consultants, authorities, and other stakeholders.
• Prepare and participate in procurement.
• Guide and share design conditions and work and decision routines with design consultants.
• Collaborate to achieve optimal solutions for construction and maintenance phases.
• Ensure that consultants' produced documents are suitable for use in procurements and production.
• Ensure environmental requirements in the design and documentation.
• Ensure that delivered documents from design consultants meet construction technical requirements.
• Coordinate design issues concerning the project's own design consultants, utility owners, contractors, side contractors, stakeholders, authorities, etc.
• Participate in reviews and follow up schedules and cost estimates provided by design consultants from a design perspective.
• Be responsible for design and preparation of contract documents and quality assure these.
• Be responsible for ensuring that produced documents meet the requirements of client responsibility and with regard to working environment.
• Support project managers in planning, procurement, and execution of contracts when it concerns design.
• Be advisory for the project's choice of solutions and assist the project manager in discussions with consultants.
• Follow the project management system and also contribute to its development.
• Contribute to creating good relationships internally and externally.

Requirements (IMPORTANT, mandatory)

• Ability to express oneself well in Swedish in both speech and writing.
• Driver's license B.
• At least 6 years of work experience in a leading role in road projects, in the role of assignment manager, project manager, design manager, or equivalent role, of which:
• a) At least 4 years of experience as a project manager/design manager with equivalent responsibilities.
• b) At least 1 year of experience in preparing procurement documents for contract procurement where digital construction models are included or at least 1 year of experience in handling reviews of procurement documents, contract documents, and construction documents, where digital construction models are included.
• c) At least one assignment with a total budget exceeding 150 MSEK (including contracts).
• d) At least one assignment that includes design management/coordinating for constructions that involve permits for water operations.
• Good knowledge of laws and regulations as well as standards and directives within the relevant area.
• Have completed training to function as the Client's construction work environment coordinator and BAS-P. The consultant must be able to present that the course/training has been completed at the start meeting.

Desirable

For the client, it is an added value if the offered consultant, in addition to the competence requirements, has several additional years of experience in multidisciplinary design management within urban planning projects. By multidisciplinary, we mean coordination of several different technical areas. For the client, it is an added value if the offered consultant has the best possible understanding of the project's and role's challenges and complexity, is self-driven, and solution-oriented.
