We are now looking for a pipe network technician for one of our teams in the Pipeline unit who wants the entire municipality as their workplace. In Skellefteå, we are in the midst of a major societal transformation, affecting both the central town and surrounding communities. A transformation that is rooted in the green transition currently taking place, not least here in northern Sweden. For us in the Pipeline unit, this often means assisting with water shut-offs and contributing our knowledge during ground, construction, and civil engineering work.

Production VA is part of the municipal water and waste department (VA) and has the main task of producing and distributing drinking water as well as collecting and treating wastewater. The operations also include treating organic waste and sewage sludge through digestion and producing biogas. Within the Pipeline unit, we are thirteen employees.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The majority of your workday will consist of practical work outdoors maintaining and servicing the public water and sewage network with maintenance, service, or investigations. You will collect, compile, and follow up on our internal mapping system. Through our shared knowledge, you will investigate, troubleshoot, and address deficiencies in our network together with your colleagues. We act as support to industry stakeholders, which may involve water shut-offs and assistance with technical solutions. We also collaborate closely with other departments within Community Building in the larger societal development. You will participate in the supervision of low-pressure sewage stations (LTA) and overflow level meters.

We have the entire municipality as our workplace, but you will start from the same location every day and almost always work together with a colleague. The workday begins and ends at Östra navet. The job involves a lot of contact with our citizens. Working hours are 07:00-16:00 with the possibility of flexible working hours, in addition to being on call.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a technical interest, who can read blueprints and understand technical issues. Perhaps you have worked in the construction or civil engineering industry or are newly graduated from a construction and civil engineering/industry program. If you have also worked with the installation of pipes in the street and have knowledge of water/sewage, that is an advantage. A pipe network technician education at the university level is also an advantage. The job requires you to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and to have sufficient English language skills to communicate with customers verbally and in writing. Digital tools such as tablets, computers, and mobile phones are used during the workday, so you need to feel comfortable using and learning new digital systems.

As a person, you are solution-oriented, goal-driven, and interested in learning new working methods and technologies. In collaboration, you can adapt and find win-win solutions through an unpretentious focus on the common goal. The job involves a lot of customer contact, which requires a accommodating, calm, and clear demeanor. A B driver's license is required for the position. It is advantageous if you have BE and C driver's licenses.
