Description

At the dams, you will work with daily rounds and operational tasks.

The rounds involve checking certain critical points at the dams every day. This must also be documented, and the position therefore also involves some administration. Various tractor jobs and ensuring that the deposition runs according to plan. The working hours are daytime Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

We prefer that you have some experience with machinery, primarily wheel loaders.

A valid driver's license (B) is required.

HMS works proactively with occupational health and environmental issues. This is also where the dam department is located. The dam department is responsible for the three square kilometer area that forms the Björkdals mine dams. The environmental department operates based on our environmental permit as well as many other laws and guidelines. We conduct measurements on water, dust, noise, and vibrations, which are reported to our supervisory authority. The occupational health and safety department works with the systematic occupational health and safety efforts in all areas of the site and acts as a support function to ensure that Björkdalsgruvan is a safe and secure workplace.

Work at the dams is governed by regulatory requirements, guidelines, and conditions in our environmental permit. The environmental department is responsible for monitoring water and soil in the surrounding area as well as applying for and managing permits.

The dam technicians at the Dams are responsible for the three square kilometer area that forms the Björkdals mine dams. Here, water from the concentration plant is filtered in various sand reservoirs to ultimately flow back into the Kåge River as clean, unpolluted water.

At Björkdalsgruvan, located outside Sandfors Kåge, we mine gold ore in our underground mine. We are located just outside Sandfors, nearly forty kilometers northwest of Skellefteå. At our site, we have the entire mining process from exploration, planning, and extraction to the actual concentration and waste management in the form of dams.
