Information Soldier – For the Sake of Freedom!

We defend Sweden, the country's interests, our freedom, and our right to live as we choose. The Armed Forces exist to protect Sweden in times of war and crisis, and the 3rd Helicopter Squadron in Ronneby is an important part of Sweden's maritime helicopter capability. Our mission towards the Navy is unique, and we are in an exciting growth phase.

About the Unit:

The 3rd Helicopter Squadron operates at Blekinge Air Force Wing in Ronneby. We are one of four squadrons and belong to the Helicopter Wing in Linköping. At the squadron in Ronneby, we have about 190 employees. Our unit is housed in modern facilities where the entire squadron is gathered in a common building. Our development and growth provide many opportunities for you as an employee. The squadron's mission is primarily focused on maritime operations, which means close collaboration with the Navy.

Job Responsibilities:

As an information soldier at the 3rd Helicopter Squadron, you are part of the functional support section that is part of the staff. You also have close cooperation with the communications department at the helicopter wing's staff in Linköping.

In the role of information soldier, you will work with both internal and external communication. As an information soldier, you are interested and curious about our operations, you enjoy making connections, and you are not afraid to be seen. Travel and fieldwork are common in this position.

  • You contribute to the unit's communication internally and externally.
  • You write news, articles, and posts, as well as produce still images and video material for social media and digital channels.
  • The assignment includes some media handling and communication during crisis management under the leadership of the communications manager.
  • The position also includes support with other tasks at the staff and squadron.

Qualifications

  • Approved military service or basic military training (GMU)
  • Excellent knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
  • Very good ability to adapt texts to different channels and target groups
  • Good physical ability
  • Approved high school diploma
  • Driver's license B (manual transmission)

Meritorious

  • Experience working with social media and web publishing
  • Knowledge in creating and editing image and video material
  • Vehicle training, e.g., C driver's license
  • Previous employment in the Armed Forces

The Armed Forces Helicopter Wing is a unit with both land and maritime operational focus that can operate in missions in Sweden and internationally.

Helicopter support is requested by many. For example, for personnel, material, or medical transport, command, reconnaissance, or surveillance tasks. The Helicopter Wing often participates in missions and exercises with other units but also as support to society in various crisis situations.

Our operations span across Sweden, the breadth of tasks, and the size of the wing with over 950 employees provide variation in work and opportunities for personal development. The majority of the Helicopter Wing is located in Linköping (Malmen), where we also manage Malmen Airfield and Linköping Garrison, with two large units in Luleå (Kallax) and Ronneby (Kallinge).
