Job responsibilities

As a fiber technician at Eltel, you will be a key person in the work of building and maintaining the fiber network that forms the foundation of our digital society. The role is varied and gives you the opportunity to work in many different environments – from villas and residential areas to commercial properties and critical infrastructure facilities. You will combine both planned installations and service assignments, which means that no day is the same.

The work involves practical fieldwork, but also technical tasks where you use advanced equipment to measure and ensure the quality of the network. You often work in pairs with a colleague and become part of a close-knit team. Since Eltel works under security-classified agreements, extracts from the criminal record will be made during the process, as well as a security check before employment. 

Examples of job tasks:

• Troubleshooting and repairs of existing fiber installations

• Performing fiber installations for both private and corporate customers

• Splicing and blowing fiber to connect and pull cables

• Configuring and measuring new equipment

• Conducting functional tests to ensure high quality

Education, experience, and personal qualities

We are looking for someone who has previous experience in the role of fiber technician and wants to continue developing in the profession.

Requirements:

• Holds a B driver's license. It is highly meritorious to have BE authorization

• Completed high school diploma, preferably in technology or electrical

• Previous experience as a fiber technician

• Good Swedish in speech and writing, as well as basic English

• Clean criminal record

We see it as meritorious if you have:

• Knowledge in blowing, splicing, and measuring fiber

• Experience with copper networks

• Fiber certification

• Previous work in the Swedish Transport Administration's railway environment
