Ersta Hospital (https://www.erstadiakoni.se/att-jobba-pa-ersta/Om-att-jobba-pa-Ersta/jobba-pa-ersta-sjukhus/) is part of Ersta Diakoni and is Sweden's largest non-profit hospital with a clear value foundation – to see the whole person. With roots dating back to 1851, we have provided healthcare in Södermalm, Stockholm, but we welcome patients from all over the country. Here, we offer high-quality, specialized healthcare with both breadth and expertise. We are a university hospital unit and conduct research, education, and development in collaboration with Karolinska Institute. We are growing to help more, and since 2023, the hospital's capacity has tripled, and eight new departments have started.

In our Gastro Unit, we run one of the country's largest IBD clinics and take care of patients with both liver diseases and functional bowel disorders. The operations span outpatient care, inpatient care, and a well-developed endoscopy service.

The medical team consists of 22 employees, including four resident doctors at different stages of their training. About the role

As a resident doctor with us, you will receive comprehensive training in gastroenterology, hepatology, and endoscopy. The training includes both outpatient and inpatient care, and you will early on run your own clinic where you meet patients with varying diagnoses and needs.

Endoscopy is an important part of the work, and you will receive a structured and well-developed endoscopy training – we are proud to offer you early independent work in the area.

Rotation in other clinics is included, and we design this based on your experience and needs. In addition to the clinical everyday life, you have allocated time for supervision and study.

The position is full-time, daytime, with start date according to agreement.

We would like you to contribute with initiatives and ideas on how we can develop the operation. An interest in research is also meritorious, as we have an active research unit with ongoing projects and doctoral students.

We are looking for you who are a licensed physician and want to specialize in gastroenterology. Experience in the field is meritorious - but the most important thing is your interest.
