About Us

The Academic Specialist Center is an operation within the Stockholm County Healthcare Area for patients with multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, diabetes, rheumatic diseases, and obesity, along with a research unit for clinical studies.

Within the operation, research, education, development, and innovation are integrated into daily healthcare activities. Our mission includes developing new working methods, innovative use of medical technology and e-health solutions, high patient involvement, and collaboration with various healthcare providers and patient associations.

At the MS unit at the Center for Neurology, we work as a team of doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, health professionals, and administrative staff. We meet our patients physically or digitally depending on their needs. We strive for high-quality care in a team environment with competent colleagues and a positive atmosphere.

Job Responsibilities

Standard nursing tasks within outpatient care, which include:

  • Handling infusions and monitoring patients during treatment
  • Patient counseling and outpatient work with patient assessment and follow-up, only when you feel ready for it.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed nurse. Experience in neurological specialist care and working with chronic illness is considered an advantage.

Personal Attributes:

You will work independently but also in a team, so we place great importance on personal maturity and good collaboration skills. We are looking for someone who is quality-conscious, clear in communication, and feels confident in their professional role.

More Information and Application

The position is hourly, 4 shifts/week. We welcome your application! The position will be filled provided it is not needed for internal relocation, according to current regulations.

For patient-related work within the Stockholm County Healthcare Area:

  • a background check will be applied before the hiring decision according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for background checks during employment.
  • employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment health examination, according to current directives, which is conducted through occupational health services before employment.
  • in addition to Swedish professional certification, good knowledge of the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is required. The same requirements apply to non-licensed personnel with patient contact.
