The city of Umeå is growing rapidly, and the Technology and Property Management Department has a significant and important mission.

We create good conditions for a well-functioning everyday life for the municipality's residents, employees, and operations. We plan, build, and manage the municipality's properties, roads, and outdoor environments. For the municipality's operations, we maintain and develop IT systems, meals, cleaning services, city hall services, and restaurant operations.

The IT department of Umeå Municipality enables positive social development by supporting innovative activities that simplify everyday life for municipal operations, citizens, and businesses. Our mission is to offer a wide range of IT services that support welfare work and a good life in Umeå, with high competence, participation, and good service spirit. Our ambition is to maintain high quality and continuously improve our operations. We are quality certified according to ISO 9001.

The IT department is responsible for more than 28,000 computers, of which over 10,000 are PCs. We also support over 4,000 tablets and nearly 4,000 mobile phones in our Microsoft Endpoint Manager (ConfigMgr and Intune) solution. We support all municipal employees as well as several municipal companies.

We at Umeå Municipality are now looking for employees for our Helpdesk team.

Your Responsibilities

As an employee in our Helpdesk, you will be part of a team that supports a broad organization ranging from preschool to elderly care or from city and rural planning to attractions and experiences in Umeå.

Our operations are responsible for developing the municipality's ability for digitization with broad expertise. In our operations, we have many methods and services, including within digital maturity and competence, digital workplace, data, IT, telephony systems, network solutions, cybersecurity, and support. About 100 employees work with us who care about job satisfaction and community.

Examples of Tasks:

• 1-line support via phone or remote control
• Case management
• System administration
• Troubleshooting

About You

We are now looking for team members who have a strong interest in service and support. You find it easy to explain technical matters in a simple way and enjoy working together with others in a team. You have a post-secondary education with an IT focus. Alternatively, you have acquired equivalent competence in another way.

You have experience in helpdesk work and good knowledge of the Windows operating system. You are a team player who understands both customers' and colleagues' situations. Experience with ITIL is an advantage.

You can communicate in Swedish and English at a good level, both orally and in writing.
