We are looking for a Municipal Ecologist/Environmental Strategist

We are looking for a municipal ecologist/environmental strategist who wants to help develop the municipality's environmental work. With us, you will have the opportunity to work in a developing work environment where your skills make a difference for both nature and future generations.

Your mission

• Collaborate with our current municipal ecologist to drive projects and be responsible for the maintenance and management of nature reserves, the municipality's own natural areas, and green spaces.
• Represent Eslöv municipality in water councils (the municipality is a member of four water councils) and assist with biological expertise in planning processes and handle shoreline protection cases.
• Contribute to the initiation of long-term work on outdoor recreation issues at a strategic level.
• Prepare and present cases for the Environmental and Community Building Committee.

Your experience

• A scientific university degree, with a focus on biology or another relevant discipline.
• Experience in driving and leading projects and processes within the environmental field in line with political direction and set goals.
• Very good communication skills in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
• Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to work in networks, both internally and externally.
• Driver's license (B).
• We would like you to have expertise in water issues, broad environmental competence, and an understanding of the role of nature conservation in the community building process.
• If you also have practical experience in outdoor recreation issues, we consider that an advantage.

About the workplace

The position of municipal ecologist/environmental strategist is located in the department of staff and environment at the Environmental and Community Building. You will be part of a group with an environmental strategist, municipal ecologist, and energy coordinator. The administration also includes supervision according to the Environmental Code and food control, as well as the departments of street, traffic, park, and mapping and construction.
