Vattenfall Hydropower is responsible for Vattenfall's 90 hydropower plants and approximately 300 dams in the Nordic region. We have about 500 employees in Sweden and Finland with our headquarters in Luleå. The renewable electricity production from hydropower is essential for creating a climate-smart and fossil-free society, where we play an important role as enablers for the sustainable energy systems of the future. Our production corresponds to about 25% of Sweden's total electricity needs. To deliver high availability in our production, we need to constantly challenge ourselves, develop our working methods, and take advantage of digital opportunities.

About the Role

Vattenfall Hydropower is now looking for a production and maintenance technician for Dals Långed!

You will be part of a team of five colleagues responsible for the operation and maintenance of Vattenfall's nine hydropower plants and three regulating dams in Dalsland. Our main responsibility is to ensure accessible and safe facilities.

The work as a production and maintenance technician is varied and responsible, here are examples of tasks and responsibilities:

  • Ongoing and preventive maintenance
  • Inspections and condition checks
  • Surveys and regular rounds of hydropower plants and regulating dams
  • Analysis, problem-solving, and troubleshooting
  • Improvement projects, both on producing units and dams
  • Water planning and operational monitoring of the plants' electricity production.

We work both outdoors and indoors, with car travel between facilities being part of everyday life. You are expected to take an active role in our work with risk assessments and to create safe workplaces where we are open and helpful.

Our team also has on-call duties in the area of responsibility. Once you are familiar with the routines and meet the requirements, you will be on-call on average every six weeks according to a rotating schedule.

We are part of the Upperudsälven/Viskan Production Group, which consists of two teams. In the other team based in Kinna, four colleagues are responsible for our facilities in the Viskan area. Within the group, we collaborate on common issues related to working methods, safety, routines, and system support. We can travel between facilities when needed, for example during revisions and outages, to work together.

Requirements

We are looking for a versatile, engaged, reliable, and responsible colleague who wants to develop in a climate-smart role as a production and maintenance technician in hydropower. We offer you a free and responsible job in very nice surroundings.

You have a high school education in electrical or mechanical engineering and experience working with operations, maintenance, and technical troubleshooting. Experience in automation technology, PLC, and electricity production is an advantage.

You enjoy finding solutions to problems and sharing ideas with your colleagues. Your working method is structured, and you place great importance on safety. You appreciate collaboration but are also prepared for independent work.

The work requires IT proficiency and comfort using both a computer and smartphone; experience with planning tools and SCADA is a plus. A B driver's license is required, and a BE driver's license is an advantage.
