VPP Tana is seeking a consultant psychiatrist for a 100% permanent position!

In this role, in addition to outpatient work, you will also work within the reputable and competent D-FACT team of DPS East-Finnmark. The work includes both digital meetings and some travel to collaborating municipalities in East-Finnmark.

About Us at VPP Tana:

VPP Tana is a general psychiatric clinic that offers assistance for a wide range of mental illnesses and addiction issues. We are part of DPS East-Finnmark and provide both inpatient and outpatient care, primarily to the municipalities of Tana, Nesseby, Båtsfjord, Berlevåg, and partially Vadsø.

The clinic has a close collaboration with VPP Kirkenes, BUP Kirkenes, and the inpatient department in Tana. We also work closely with municipal services and psychiatric departments at the university hospital in Northern Norway.

We are a multidisciplinary team with high competence where all professional roles are represented. You will be part of a group that includes three consultants, a psychologist specialist, a resident doctor, several other professionals, and two administrative staff.

Ongoing Development Projects Include:

An initiative for digital healthcare services: D-FACT team, an intermunicipal team in collaboration with several municipalities in the region.
Group therapy with DBT, as well as services for Vadsø prison.

Job Responsibilities:

Daily follow-up of patients in close collaboration with a multidisciplinary treatment team.
Medical responsibility, including assessments at admissions and discharges, medication, and TUD.
Investigation, mapping, and diagnostic assessments.
Internal training for healthcare personnel.
Multidisciplinary collaboration internally and externally.
Supervision of students and colleagues.
Treatment of patients with ROP diagnoses (comorbidity psychiatry/addiction).
Participation in D-FACT and development work.

Qualifications:

Norwegian medical license and specialist in psychiatry with full prescribing rights.
Broad general psychiatric experience, including acute psychiatry, treatment of psychosis, and personality disorders.
Experience in treating adults in psychiatry is desirable.
Competence in addiction is an advantage but not a requirement.
Fluent Norwegian or another Scandinavian language is a requirement.
