Deputy Group Leader for our Security Group

About the Region

The Northern Military Region (MR N) staff is a military unit located in Boden. The staff consists of continuously serving officers and civilians. In a state of heightened readiness, the staff is supplemented by part-time personnel and home guard soldiers. The commander of MR N with staff leads subordinate units, collaborates with regional actors, leads intelligence and security services, and supports other commanders who solve tasks within the region. MR N Security Group operates within the framework of military security services. The MR Security Group is a new regional concept and unit type that is under development. You will play an important role in creating and developing regional capabilities to meet the increased security threats in northern Sweden. We work to manage the five main types of security threats: Crime, sabotage, subversion, intelligence operations, and terrorism.

Main Responsibilities

  • participate in and lead the group's work within security services focusing on intelligence gathering, security protection measures, and processing and analysis
  • participate in and lead the group's work within security protection services focusing on security protection planning
  • participate in and lead work within the framework of security investigations
  • participate in and lead the group's training and development in daily work

As the deputy group leader in the MR N Security Group, you will work with security services regionally within the northern military region through intelligence gathering, processing/analysis, and security protection measures. You will contribute to the development and direction of security services at the regional level. Initially, many of the tasks will be related to creating conditions for establishing the MR N security group and your own position training.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • professional officer OR 6
  • good knowledge of English (spoken and written)
  • Class B driver's license (manual transmission)
  • FM FYSS Basic Requirements level 3

Within the framework of the group's operations, interaction with other people is a very important part, which is why we are looking for someone with very good social skills and good self-awareness. Your mental and physical ability is important for solving tasks effectively. You will be part of a small unit that operates independently and is shaped according to the nature of the task. In addition, high demands will be placed on you as a deputy group leader and group member to have a high ability to act independently. Working in various types of social environments and varying geographical locations is something you enjoy. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

MERITORIOUS

  • served in MP/Security/Reconnaissance units
  • military/civil overseas service
  • knowledge of non-Nordic languages
  • military driving licenses, snowmobile/ATV/BE
  • training in intelligence services

  • trained interviewer and discussion leader

Employment type: Permanent employment. The Swedish Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those not employed by the authority.

The position involves travel within Sweden. Work is partially scheduled for evenings and weekends. Previous experience in military security services is not a requirement as all relevant basic training will be provided. Development opportunities for specialization in military security services will be offered to personnel who have worked for a longer period and are deemed to have significant experience and suitability for the position.
