Planning Officer at the Garrison Support Unit in Boden Garrison

Main Responsibilities

In the role of planning officer at the Garrison Support Unit in Boden Garrison, you will assist the garrison commander with coordination and prioritization of the garrison's infrastructure objects in close collaboration with the Local Planning Unit, the Fortifications Agency, organizational units within the garrison, and other parts of the Armed Forces operating in Boden Garrison.

You will support the garrison commander in maintaining and developing the infrastructure process within the garrison, including leading and conducting the garrison's infrastructure meeting four times a year.

Your work will involve planning and proposing effective local and land use within the garrison in both the short and long term. You will also participate in other planning work at the unit's management department. The work involves a lot of personal contacts, meetings, and collaboration with a variety of actors both within and outside the garrison.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

• Swedish professional officer, or currently serving as a reserve officer
• Experience from staff service
• Good ability to communicate verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English
• Driving license (B)

I 19 is one of Sweden's largest regiments with operations from Härnösand in the south to Kiruna in the north. The headquarters and management for the regiment are located in Boden. The regiment's main task is to build war units, and in the coming years, I 19 will gradually develop the new Norrbotten Brigade. By 2030, the regiment should be able to train, stockpile, and mobilize the entire brigade, including the associated functional units; command, field operations, air defense, and logistics.

The conscription training is conducted at the Norrbotten Armored Battalion, which is responsible for training and maintaining units for the Norrbotten Brigade. The regiment also has a regimental staff, a brigade staff, the Armed Forces' winter unit, Defense Health, the Garrison Support Unit, the Logistics Unit, and the Local Planning Unit.
