The Culture, Leisure, and Technology Administration is the municipality's third largest administration. We have 180 employees with a broad area of responsibility within libraries, cultural schools, museums and public art, property and projects, streets and traffic, ports, parks and coasts, facilities and swimming, open youth activities, association support, as well as consumer and budget advice.

The libraries in Falkenberg consist of the city library in Argus, five local libraries, and two library buses. Today, 25 people work in the library organization, and we are now looking for a new colleague! In 2025, we will implement a pilot project with Språkstart Halland, and if you are passionate about the language development of young children, you might be the person we are looking for!

RESPONSIBILITIES

You will drive and work with the language development of young children within Språkstart Halland. This includes planning how we can carry out the project, as well as practically making home visits to families with children aged 6 months and 11 months. You will also need to collaborate with other actors, such as child health centers and family centers. The visits mainly take place in the central area but may also occur in other places in the municipality. One goal of these visits is to inspire and enthuse caregivers to use language together with their young children. Each family receives a language gift during the visit. Another goal of the project is to invite families to the libraries for various activities.

The position includes scheduled work at the information desks at the city library, including evenings and weekends, where you will act as the library's outward face. Having an inclusive and relationship-building approach is therefore of great importance. You may also work at our other libraries as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in library and information science or another academic education that the employer considers equivalent. For this project position, we have no requirements for experience working in a library.

It is important that you are engaged and truly want to work with children and their families to thrive and succeed in the position. You need to be outgoing, social, flexible, and proactive. Enjoying collaboration with colleagues is a given. Furthermore, you value diversity and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others.

For the position, it is an advantage if you:

• Have experience working with young children
• Have documented good collaboration skills
• Master several languages

A driver's license (B) is a requirement. We place great emphasis on personal suitability and that you complement the rest of the workgroup.
