JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a part-time firefighter, you will normally be on call every third week, and you must be reachable 24/7 via a pager. Drills are conducted regularly 1-2 times per on-call week in the evenings.

If you are one of the candidates we are looking for, we will contact you to explain more about the various tests that selected applicants will undergo, including:

• Fitness and health tests on a treadmill and job-related tests.
• Swimming test
• Practical tests

Upon employment, you will receive the training necessary to work as a part-time firefighter. The training lasts a total of 7 weeks and is divided into blocks in collaboration with MSB's schools and is funded by the fire service.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be employed as a part-time firefighter, you must have a permanent position (full-time job).

You must live and work close enough to reach the fire station within 5-8 minutes, depending on where you live.

If you are self-employed and want to make a difference as a part-time firefighter, you can also apply.

Your primary employer must approve your work as a part-time firefighter.

The important job of a part-time firefighter requires good physical fitness and swimming ability.

If you are hired and do not yet have a C driver's license, you must obtain it within 18 months of starting the job; the fire service will cover part of the cost of the license.
