OHB Sweden is a leading Swedish supplier of space systems. We develop, build, test, and deploy satellites and subsystems for space missions in areas such as communication, earth observation, and space research for institutional and commercial customers both within and outside Europe.

About the position

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated all-round mechanic for work in our production and testing operations. The position is a project employment for 1 year with the possibility of extension or permanent employment.

As a production technician, you will be part of the production department, whose primary focus is to build and test propulsion subsystems and satellites.

The job involves regular travel abroad, 1–5 trips per year.

In this role, you will work both in an office environment and in a lab/cleanroom environment to build, test, and handle hardware. You will report to the Production Department Manager.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• Planning and organizing daily work in a structured and efficient manner
• Mechanical integration including thermal hardware
• Mechanical processing
• Testing of hardware, e.g. pressure tests, electrical function tests
• Setting up test environments and integrating, inspecting, and supporting functional tests
• General technical problem-solving
• Documentation of completed work
• Purchasing of components and tools
• Writing technical documentation in English
• The work is partially independent

Your skills and experience

• Completed technical education in mechanics or equivalent, from high school or university.
• Experience in integration and construction of advanced hardware.
• Work experience in operations with high quality requirements such as the aerospace industry or medical equipment.
• Fluent in Swedish and proficient in English (written and spoken).

Meritorious

• Comfortable working in a typical engineering/project environment
• Comfortable in lab and cleanroom environments
