Your responsibilities

In the role of automation engineer with us, you will have overall responsibility for our automation, ensuring an efficient approach to requirements specification, development, and management. You will be a central player in the development of our automation solutions and an important contact point towards our suppliers. Your task will be to guarantee robust and secure machine processes and work with relevant and effective development of automation and systems at all our facilities. Additionally, you are expected to spread knowledge and ensure that the organization has the right competence in your area of expertise. Furthermore, you will contribute to the strategic work by using your experience and expertise to identify and meet the needs of the business.

Your responsibilities include:

• Developing annual management plans and budgets for automation systems, as well as driving the development of our automation systems.
• Leading and co-leading automation projects.
• Managing contracts and driving contract dialogues with our suppliers.
• Being the client and task giver to our automation suppliers.
• Developing and following up on specifications against suppliers.
• Resource planning and securing resources (internally and externally).
• Acting as a key person and link to relevant parties internally and externally, i.e., mobilizing the right network around our automation activities.
• Leading and performing implementation and testing of new/changed/improved functionalities.
• Being responsible for technical documentation regarding our automation and dependent infrastructure.
• Ensuring that our systems meet the highest quality standards.

Worth knowing

This is a newly established position, and you will join an engaged team of 4 people, reporting to the Technical Manager.

The position is 100%, permanent employment based at our new facility in Vaggeryd. It may also be possible to work from one of our other facilities in Västerås or Helsingborg. Start as soon as possible or by agreement.

We offer a hybrid work model with the flexibility to work both on-site and remotely, and the position also involves travel to our facilities.

Our expectations

To succeed in this role, we see that you have an adequate technical post-secondary education for the responsibilities of the role, preferably in machine or automation. You have solid experience in automation and have preferably worked with project management and/or management. You also have very good knowledge of production systems and integrations with various IT systems, as well as knowledge of Siemens, vision systems, RFID, and production monitoring programs.

The role of Automation Engineer requires that you are communicative, proactive, initiative-taking, and problem-solving. You are self-driven, open, and curious while being motivated by good collaboration and joint commitment. You thrive in a role that alternates between management and development, and you have a holistic perspective and are comfortable making decisions to drive work towards set goals. Since the position involves many internal and external contacts, very good knowledge of Swedish and English in both speech and writing is required.
