Description

We are now looking for a System Technician with a focus on IT to expand our team at Skavsta.

You will work on maintaining and developing the Swedish Coast Guard's technical support systems within aviation operations. You will be part of our Aviation Unit team and will be involved in designing processes in the area together with the management.

Responsibilities

As a System Technician, you will have frequent contact with our system suppliers. The work includes monitoring, troubleshooting, and updating our technical systems. You will be involved in future development projects where your expertise will contribute with proposals for technical systems and improvements, as well as work on technical documentation. The Swedish Coast Guard currently has a central IT department, and the position includes extensive collaboration with other IT functions within the authority.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Operation, maintenance, and updating of existing systems.
Configuration management of program and software versions.
Support in the installation of applications and systems.
Further development of technical infrastructure.
Conducting training for operational staff on the use of hardware from a functional perspective.
Handling cyber security issues within the aviation unit.
Data communication in our flying platforms.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

Post-secondary education in IT, or other education or experience that we at the Swedish Coast Guard consider equivalent.
Current and relevant work experience in avionics, aeronautical engineering, system technology, or similar experience that we at the Swedish Coast Guard consider equivalent.
Experience in conducting, coordinating, and structuring troubleshooting.
Experience in implementing, coordinating, and updating in a Windows environment.
Experience in documenting technical processes.
Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
Good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.
A driver's license.

It is advantageous if you have:

Relevant experience in the aviation industry.
Experience in working with databases, network administration, VPN, and other security solutions.

In the role of System Technician, you will lead the technical dialogue with our system suppliers as well as other parties, which means you are collaborative, curious, and communicative.

This is a permanent position with a six-month probationary period, starting on a date to be agreed upon.

Swedish citizenship, a driver's license for a passenger car, an approved drug test, and a security clearance according to the Security Protection Act are required for employment.

The Swedish Coast Guard participates in foreign missions and international operations. Therefore, the position includes an obligation to serve abroad when necessary for the operation.

A duty to be placed in wartime also accompanies permanent employment.
