Care for Individuals with Disabilities

Within our care services, we assist individuals with various types of disabilities. We work to facilitate and support our users in managing the practical aspects of daily life. The goal is to help everyone lead as independent a life as possible.

Your Responsibilities

As a support educator, you will work with your colleagues to support our users with everything from hygiene and nutrition to recreational activities. Your role as a support educator also involves assisting your colleagues with methods, implementation plans, and routines, as well as helping users with the right tools for a developmental and independent life.

Together with the unit manager, you will have a special focus on quality and development throughout the area and, when necessary, support additional operations in the department on behalf of the unit manager.

Who You Are

We are looking for someone with a vocational college education as a support educator. Alternatively, we see that you have a university education equivalent to 60 higher education credits with a pedagogical focus, such as a leisure educator or other education/competence deemed equivalent. Knowledge of sign language is advantageous.

To succeed in this role, you need to be independent, socially active in professional contexts, and open to collegial learning and supervision. You have good collaboration skills and possess analytical and pedagogical abilities.

As part of Region Gotland, we work in the social services department with social services such as counseling, support, and treatment. Our areas of operation include social services, home healthcare, elderly care, and care for individuals with disabilities throughout Gotland.
