We are now starting up a new part of our operations. A counseling phone line that will be open every day of the week, around the clock. We are now looking for you who are interested in working in a dynamic workplace where you rotate between the counseling phone line, the adult psychiatry emergency department, and the psychiatric emergency care unit.

Our operations
The section for emergency and consulting psychiatry consists of the adult psychiatry emergency department, which has emergency services around the clock, a psychiatric emergency care unit (PAVA) with 12 beds, and the PAM unit (psychiatric ambulance).

Patients come to the emergency department around the clock via self-referral/visits but also with police, ambulance, correctional services, and from other healthcare institutions. As a nurse in the emergency department, you are in charge of work management and patient flow, perform acute initial assessments, and triage patients.

Patients who need a shorter or longer period of care are admitted to the psychiatric emergency care unit. The length of stay at PAVA is approximately 1 - 3 days, after which patients are either discharged or transferred to another psychiatric department if they require a longer period of care.

Here we work as a team, and you are responsible for a maximum of 6 patients together with caregivers. You also collaborate with other professionals in the team on the ward in a shared overall responsibility for the patients.

Your mission as a nurse

As a nurse, you always work with the patient in focus. When working on the counseling phone line, you will be located at the healthcare emergency call center and you will work in their data system. The alarm operator assesses whether the alarm is a psychiatric call and forwards it to you as a nurse. You also receive calls from 1177 and the general public and make acute psychiatric assessments over the phone. You will have the opportunity to call out the PAM unit for missions you believe require an acute psychiatric assessment on-site.

At the emergency department and PAVA, you actively participate in nursing work, assess patients' acute psychiatric and somatic conditions. You plan and lead the nursing work in the team. You are responsible for routine nursing tasks and conduct support conversations, symptom management, psychoeducation, and planning together with the patient. You contribute a nursing perspective to the interdisciplinary team. In your area of responsibility, you also include quality development and improvement of psychiatric care.

Your qualifications

We are looking for a licensed nurse or specialist nurse in psychiatric nursing. If you are a basic nurse, great emphasis will be placed on your knowledge of various psychiatric conditions, approach, and care, as well as your experience from previous work in psychiatry. You should be interested in acute psychiatric care, where you work daily to assess and care for patients seeking acute help. You are interested in working in an operation with a wide range, where you will personally develop in your role as a nurse.

We attach great importance to you feeling confident in your role as a nurse and with your tasks. Therefore, we see that your first six months include an individually adapted introduction with gradually increased responsibility and step-by-step competence development. Depending on your experience, we will together build up your introduction for the best results. We start the introduction on the ward, PAVA, and then you will also be introduced to the department and the counseling phone line to then switch between inpatient ward, emergency department, and counseling phone line.

We offer a full-time permanent position. Entry by agreement. Probationary employment may be applied.

Individual scheduling where we are part of the academic hospital's point model, which means a lower weekly working time based on the shifts you work.
Inpatient care supplement of 2000 SEK, during night duty, an additional reinforced rotation supplement of 4000 SEK is included.

Prior to appointment, extracts from the police suspicion and criminal records register are taken.
