About the Position

Svenska kraftnät is a key player in the energy transition. Our IT division is growing to enable a doubling of electricity production and a fossil-free future. With the latest technology, we are increasing both the capacity of the infrastructure and the pace of development within digitization and processes.

We are looking for an experienced tester with a development background who wants to work in our agile team and contribute to building robust and well-tested systems. You will work closely with developers and other team members to ensure that solutions maintain high quality. IT security is a prioritized area.

The team develops systems for outage management that enable capacity calculation of the Swedish transmission network. The system is modern and built with C#, .NET Core, Entity Framework, Razor pages, REST, and MS-SQL.

We currently work with unit, integration, system, end-to-end, acceptance, manual, and exploratory testing, and we would like our testing strategy to evolve further in line with DevOps to improve quality and shorten lead times. There is also a need to review how test data is managed and utilized.

Test-driven development is a potential area for development going forward, and in the role of tester, you will also develop the testing area towards DevOps.

Your work will include:

• Test Automation: Develop, implement, and maintain automated tests for our .NET applications. You will work with Playwright, among other tools.
• Manual Testing: When necessary, you will conduct manual testing of systems to identify bugs, security vulnerabilities, and performance issues not captured by automated tests.
• Test Data Management: Create, manage, and maintain test data for various test scenarios. Ensure that test environments reflect the production environment as closely as possible.
• CI/CD and DevOps: Integrate tests into our CI/CD pipelines and ensure that tests run automatically with each code change for quick feedback to the development team.
• Collaboration and Training: Collaborate with developers and other team members to spread knowledge about testing, automation, and best practices.
• Testing Strategy: Responsible for defining and improving the team's testing strategy and processes to ensure high quality in deliveries.
• Test Coordination: Plan and coordinate the team's testing activities, collaborating within the team and with other teams to ensure that testing is an integral part of the development cycle.

You will be part of the System Analysis Applications unit within the IT department for Power Systems & Electricity Market. The unit develops system support for outage planning and capacity determination at national, Nordic, and European levels.

About You

Required Qualifications:

We are looking for someone who is analytical and solves problems without losing sight of long-term strategies and sees logic and connections in complex information. To be successful, you also need to be results-oriented and good at collaborating. You have creative abilities and can think outside the box, explore new avenues, and find new solutions to problems.

We place great importance on your personal qualities.

Furthermore, you have a higher education/university degree equivalent to 120 credits/180 ECTS in IT/Data or equivalent competence acquired in another way that Svenska kraftnät assesses as equivalent. You also have several years of recent work experience in developing unit, integration, and system tests in .NET, test automation with Playwright, Cypress, or similar tools, manual and exploratory testing, as well as system development in Visual Studio with C# and .NET. You have experience working in a cross-functional team with agile methods and principles, such as Scrum or Kanban.

Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English is a requirement for the position.

Desirable Experience:

• Configuration of tests in CI/CD pipelines and test management in Azure DevOps or similar
• Test data management, testing strategies, and/or test management
• System development or testing in critical or security-sensitive operations.
