About the Department

At the Pediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology Clinic, we investigate and treat patients aged 0–18 with various gastrointestinal issues. The clinic is divided into three teams: transplantation, IBD, and nutrition. Patients who come to us can be treated for anything from celiac disease to severe liver diseases. We provide treatments and infusions for inflammatory bowel diseases and follow and investigate patients both before and after kidney or liver transplantation. The clinic also receives patients with nutritional problems, where our nurses support other departments within the children's hospital. Many patients are followed from childhood until they transition to adult care, and the transfer process is part of our work.

We work in teams consisting of pediatric nurses, registered nurses, nursing assistants, and pediatricians. We also collaborate closely with dietitians, social workers, and psychologists in caring for our patients. We are a cheerful group of employees with good cohesion, caring for both our patients and each other.

Job Responsibilities

Patient visits include conversations, examinations, sample collections, medication treatments, vaccinations, tube placements, and dressings. Administration, preparations, and follow-up work are also included around the visits.

As a nurse, you will have both independent nursing visits where patients are received, as well as consultations with doctors and other professionals such as dietitians. One of the nurse's responsibilities is to plan and carry out infusion treatments for patients. In addition to patient visits, the work includes counseling, planning, and booking visits. Our clinic is involved in both healthcare and research and development work. The clinic participates in several assignments related to National Highly Specialized Care (NHV), where you as a nurse will be involved in planning and caring for patients.

About You

We are looking for a licensed nurse, preferably with experience in pediatric care. It is advantageous if you are a pediatric nurse or have experience in outpatient care, but this is not a requirement. As a nurse, you are passionate about working with children and families. Building relationships and instilling safety and trust comes naturally to you. You enjoy meeting people from diverse backgrounds and are attentive in dialogue. You excel at structuring and taking initiative while also possessing good collaborative skills with patients, relatives, colleagues, and others. Personal suitability will be of great importance.

If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will participate in the Clinical Foundation Year, which is our introductory program. The Clinical Foundation Year is mandatory and lasts for the first year of your employment with us. It includes lectures, nursing supervision, and practical training at the Simulation Center. Additionally, it includes service in at least two different departments to broaden your competence.

In the event of recruiting nurses/doctors with foreign licenses/specialist certificates, the position will be preceded by a process to meet the requirements for Swedish licenses/specialist certificates.
