Job Responsibilities

Standard responsibilities for a special education teacher. You will have overall responsibility and work with/teach students in the school's Studio and the municipality's joint teaching group. Mentorship is included in the job responsibilities.

About the Workplace

The main task of the Department of Children and Education is to provide a safe and stimulating learning environment where we prepare children and young people for the future and provide them with the tools they need. We also work to promote access to cultural and recreational activities for all residents. Those of us who work in the Department of Children and Education have varied backgrounds and experiences, and our main task is to offer all children a safe learning place, with a focus on knowledge acquisition. We provide a developing educational environment in accordance with the laws and directives in place, to give all students a stable knowledge base to stand on.

Gröndalsskolan is a K-9 school with approximately 900 students and 100 staff members. The school's educators are divided into teams/subject groups. There is also a student health team at the school that includes all professions. The school is located next to Gröndalsviken commuter train station. Our facilities are largely newly renovated. We have a nice auditorium and a centrally located school library. Up on our hill, there are opportunities for outdoor pedagogy. We are constantly developing our work, and currently, we are focusing on learning environments and differentiated instruction.

What We Are Looking For

To succeed in this role, you have:

• Certification as a primary school teacher
• Further education as a special education teacher
• Experience working with students with learning difficulties
• Experience working with particularly gifted students
• Experience in special education
• Knowledge of the current curriculum
• Good knowledge of the school's governing documents
• Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish
• Ability to use digital tools

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience working in special teaching groups
