Family Law Social Worker at Umeå Municipality

The family law unit is organizationally part of the Authority Operations within the Support and Care Administration, and the work involves collaboration across both unit and operational boundaries. We are a team of 10 employees and a unit manager.

You will join a working group with ten family law social workers and a unit manager. Your Responsibilities

You will work with typical tasks within the family law area, such as custody, residence, and visitation investigations on behalf of the court. You will work with voluntary and referred mediation sessions as well as information sessions. The tasks also include counseling, contract matters, paternity and parenthood investigations, consent and adoption cases, as well as investigations regarding custody transfers. The family law unit also offers and facilitates the children's group Ballongen in the autumn, as well as the parent group BiFF.

About You

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and experience in authority operations. We prefer candidates with experience in family law work and training in mediation.

In your role, you are skilled at handling stress constructively and maintain a good mood under pressure and adversity. In the tasks you face, you are confident in uncertain situations, stand up for your opinions, have the courage to speak out, and the ability to separate issues from individuals.

As a person, you are structured and prefer to work according to a clear process. You are accustomed to organizing and planning your work and working towards deadlines. You are confident in your profession, clear in your communication, and have a respectful approach towards both clients and colleagues. We place great importance on personal suitability.

The position requires a B driver's license.
