Summer Temporary Position as Treatment Assistant at SiS Youth Home Fagared

The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people and adults with substance abuse. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. At SiS, your work life will be an exciting challenge. SiS Youth Home Fagared receives non-compulsory school-age boys with psychosocial problems, criminal behavior, and substance abuse. We have departments in Lindome, Öxnevalla, and Gothenburg.

Job Description

Take the opportunity to try an interesting summer temporary position as a treatment assistant at SiS.

SiS Youth Home Fagared is now seeking treatment assistants for summer temporary positions at our two treatment departments in Öxnevalla, Marks municipality. The departments consist of two locked treatment units where you, as a treatment assistant, will work to build secure relationships and help ensure that our youth receive the safety and security they need to break old habits.

The goal of your role is to motivate our youth to adopt new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant during the summer, you will help ensure that the routines in the department function as they should. You play a significant role in the stability and security for our youth and clients, and you are responsible for the foundation of daily life, such as schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. You will also contribute to maintaining safety at the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building good treatment relationships and help ensure that our youth and clients receive the safety and security they need to break old habits. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues, such as treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Qualifications

Your personal suitability is key to life-changing transformations. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of people, great empathy, and the ability to build good treatment relationships. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressured situations.

  • Completed and approved upper secondary education
  • B driver's license
  • Very good Swedish in speech and writing as the work may involve some documentation and contact with other authorities
  • Experience in youth-related work or work with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., from psychiatry, HVB operations, or from care and support. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Employment

The position is a temporary employment for the summer. It is desirable and advantageous if you can start working as an hourly employee before the summer period.

Working hours: Irregular working hours according to schedule. Either day, evening, and weekend shifts, or night shifts on weekdays and weekends.

As a summer substitute, you will undergo a tailored introductory training of 3 days. You must be able to participate in this introductory training to work with us.
