Part-time Hosts for Kulturhuset Komedianten

The Culture and Leisure Administration manages the municipality's cultural and leisure facilities such as libraries, youth centers, cultural schools, theaters, and sports facilities. We also provide services and grants to associations within the municipality.

We are expanding our team with several part-time hosts for our operations at Kulturhuset Komedianten, including Varberg Theater and Varberg Art Hall, as well as Galleri Hamnmagasinet. We are now looking for you who want a fun part-time job where you can work to create conditions for our visitors' cultural experiences!

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The tasks are varied and suit you who enjoy meeting people, thrive in social settings, and are not afraid to pitch in where needed. As a host at Varberg Theater, you are the person who ensures that the dressing room is prepared before an event, welcomes artists who are performing, provides refreshments, and prepares for audience entry. When the audience is ready to enter, you check tickets, inform about any breaks, and direct them to the restrooms. You are also responsible for safety and will receive relevant training and briefings so that you feel secure in an emergency situation or similar. As a host at Varberg Art Hall and Galleri Hamnmagasinet, you are the first person to meet visitors. You can provide information about the exhibitions and conduct introductions or guided tours as needed or when scheduled. The job involves varied tasks, and you who are applying are as enthusiastic about working as an audience host as you are about being an art host.

Evening and weekend shifts occur regularly, and the work is often possible to combine with studies. Sometimes you receive your schedule well in advance, but sometimes the request for you to work may come at short notice.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with relevant education, preferably a university degree in event management, art, or culture, or equivalent experience. You must be at least 18 years old, and prior experience in hosting is an advantage.

You who are applying have a strong interest in art and culture, good language skills in Swedish and English, and knowledge of other languages is a plus. You are social, enjoy working with people, and can work independently on tasks. You have no problem giving presentations and speaking in front of a group. It is an advantage if you live in or near Varberg as there may be a need to bring in hosts at short notice.

OTHER

4-6 part-time positions as needed.

Interviews will take place at Kulturhuset Komedianten in Varberg, primarily on May 9, but may also occur continuously throughout the application period.
