The Women’s Health Unit (VO) at Skåne University Hospital has approximately 950 employees and includes both gynecological and obstetric services provided in Malmö and Lund. As a university hospital, we also have assignments in development and education, which has led to successful research within the field.

The Acute Gynecology Clinic in Malmö is part of the Women’s Health Unit. Here, patients with acute gynecological conditions and pregnant women up to week 21 plus 6 with acute pregnancy-related issues come. The patients have varying degrees of care needs, creating a diverse working environment and great opportunities for personal development.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We welcome you as a nursing assistant who wants to contribute with commitment and drive to provide our patients with the best possible care!

In the role of nursing assistant with us, you will work quite independently. Common tasks include assisting doctors during examinations, performing medical technical tasks such as inserting catheters (KAD), intermittent catheterization (RIK), capillary and peripheral venipuncture, wound dressings, and NEWS monitoring.

The position involves day, weekend, and evening shifts.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a trained nursing assistant with a focus on emergency care/healthcare according to the previous program structure or a trained nursing assistant within the new program structure who has studied all specializations. You have good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written. We consider surgical experience as an advantage.

We appreciate if you are flexible, attentive, and humble towards both patients and colleagues. Furthermore, you have good prioritization skills and the ability to make independent decisions. You are empathetic, patient, and communicative in your work, which contributes to providing high-quality care and building good relationships. Personal suitability is of great importance.

As of July 1, 2023, the title nursing assistant became a protected professional title. This means that you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant within healthcare and social services. If you currently have a permanent position as a nursing assistant and are offered a new position, you can retain your title as a nursing assistant until June 30, 2033. At any interview/employment, you will need to present proof of the protected professional title from the National Board of Health and Welfare or a certificate indicating that you were permanently employed on July 1, 2023. If you do not have a professional certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare or are covered by transitional provisions, it means that the title in your employment contract will be care assistant and not nursing assistant.
