Head of Cargo Solutions

SAS is a digital leader with a long history of developing innovative solutions that revolutionize the airline industry. The Airline Solutions team's mission is to create value by developing and operating digital solutions that enable the operations of the airline.

The Airline Solutions department is part of SAS Digital & IT organization within Scandinavian Airlines. SAS Digital & IT consists of around 200 employees and is primarily located at SAS Head Office at Frösundavik in Solna, just outside Stockholm.

Challenges you will work on:

SAS Cargo is a subsidiary within SAS Group handling the sales and operations of air cargo. It is a business with its own profit and loss responsibility and IT systems covering all functions from sales, revenue management, logistics, and fulfillment.

The Cargo Solutions leader will be responsible for the deliveries of the IT solutions and services related to the cargo business, as well as team development, stakeholder management, vendor management, and cost budget. The scope includes IT solutions for the website, core sales processes, revenue management & pricing, logistics, revenue accounting, and business intelligence, etc. Your team consists of 6-8 highly skilled experts who are located in Copenhagen, together with SAS Cargo’s head office. You will report to the Vice President of Airline Solutions and be part of the SAS Cargo executive leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and communicate team vision, goal, and roadmap – based on overall strategies, customer needs, market trends, and stakeholder input.
  • Deliver efficient, high-quality IT development and operations on budget.
  • Lead, inspire, and develop your team and individual employees, attract and retain talent.
  • Establish close collaboration with business stakeholders to ensure success in achieving business goals.
  • Build partnerships with external vendors and manage and develop IT agreements in cooperation with our sourcing team.
  • Share your team’s competence across Digital & IT teams to ensure seamless, innovative, and agile development across all SAS channels.
  • As part of the Airlines Solutions Leadership team – contribute to the overall goals, strategies, and plans.
  • As part of the SAS Cargo Leadership team – ensure alignment of business needs and IT solutions, drive the IT agenda as part of SAS Cargo’s business strategy.

  • This position is based in Frösundavik, Solna (Stockholm), and you will be expected to work onsite. Remote work may also be an option, depending on the agreement made with your manager.
