Hertsöskolan is located in central Hertsön, which is Luleå's largest residential area with about 5500 inhabitants. The school has 310 students in grades 4-9. Here, 50 educators, student health staff, career counselors, custodians, meal staff, and cleaners work. Together, we have extensive experience, and many of us have worked at the school for a long time. Since the autumn term of 2012, Hertsöskolan has offered an optional math orientation. Until the spring term of 2026, we will operate in temporary modules, but from the autumn term of 2026, we will move into a newly built school.

Hertsön is known for its rich leisure and community life and proximity to nature. There are libraries, youth centers, sports facilities, and a nature reserve within walking distance.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

You will teach students in grades 4-9 in crafts with a focus on textiles. The position involves planning, teaching, and assessing the subject in close collaboration with other teachers and student health staff. You will plan and follow up on daily work and communicate with guardians as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has a teaching license and is qualified to teach crafts with a focus on textiles. You have good pedagogical insights and are well acquainted with the school's governing documents and systematic quality work.

To succeed in this role, you need to be skilled at creating and maintaining good relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. You should be a secure person who can create calm in the classroom, have the courage to speak up when necessary, and can distinguish between the issue and the person. You have good collaboration skills and a willingness to share knowledge and experiences.
