University Lecturer in Social Work

The Department of Psychology and Social Work operates at Campus Östersund. We conduct research and education in social work and the fundamental areas of psychology.

Job Responsibilities

The position as a university lecturer primarily involves teaching in the social work program.

The lecturer position includes work with teaching, such as lectures, seminars, and laboratory work, both on campus and remotely, course examinations, etc. Additionally, it includes course planning, course development, and administrative tasks, such as scheduling, course coordination, grading reporting, etc.

Qualifications

Eligible for the position as a university lecturer in social work is someone who has obtained a bachelor's degree with social work as the main subject or has equivalent competence in the relevant subject area.

For this position in social work, in addition to the above, a social work degree of 7 semesters, equivalent to 210 credits in the current credit system, and a Master's in social work after the bachelor's degree, as well as certified psycho-social supervisor 45 credits at advanced level, and higher education pedagogical training of 15 credits are required.

Other Requirements

The candidate must have demonstrated pedagogical skills.

The job requires good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. You should also be able to perform administrative and pedagogical tasks.

Experience working with the learning platforms Moodle/Canvas is an advantage.

Personal Qualities

Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities. We are looking for someone who is attentive and has good collaboration skills, while also being structured and able to independently plan and carry out their work responsibly.

Assessment Criteria

The assessment criteria for the appointment of a university lecturer are the degree of such skills required for eligibility for the position. The evaluation of pedagogical skills should receive equal attention as the evaluation of other eligibility criteria.

Documented experience of teaching at the academic level in social work is an advantage.

Applicants will be assessed based on pedagogical skills, work and teaching experience, and personal qualities. Great emphasis will be placed on pedagogical skills.

Employment and Start Date

The position is a temporary appointment of 20% of full-time for six months starting from 2025-08-25 or by agreement.
