The Nephrology Clinic has about 160 employees and is part of the medical specialties area. The Nephrology Clinic DS is responsible for all nephrology specialist care in northern Stockholm. The goal of the operation is to provide Sweden's best kidney care. We work every day to improve the medical quality and care to achieve this goal. The clinic currently consists of an inpatient department, a kidney center that includes a nephrology clinic and a self-dialysis clinic, as well as hemodialysis clinics at Danderyd Hospital, Löwenströmska Hospital, and in Norrtälje.

We are now looking for a Deputy Head of Nursing Unit at the Kidney Center North Nephrology Clinic. The staff group at the Nephrology Clinic consists of nurses and a nursing assistant. All of the clinic's doctors meet patients at the unit. Social workers and dietitians are also a valuable part of the team.

The Nephrology Clinic at Danderyd Hospital has a catchment area that corresponds to about 8% of Sweden's population. Approximately 3000 patients visit the Nephrology Clinic annually, many of whom come several times a year. We meet patients at all stages of their kidney disease, including kidney transplant patients and kidney donors.

In the fall of 2025, the Kidney Center North will move into the hospital's new care building. We are looking for someone who wants to be involved from the start and help establish operations in the new premises.

Job Description

The role of Deputy Head of Nursing Unit means that you will act as the extended arm of the Head of Nursing Unit in the daily operations. You will be responsible, together with the Head of Nursing Unit and the medically responsible doctors, for planning, leading, coordinating, developing, and following up on the operations. Since the Kidney Center North has two clinics, you will also have close collaboration with the Deputy Head at the Self-Dialysis Clinic.

Together with the Head of Nursing Unit, you will have overall responsibility for daily staff planning. As the Deputy Head at the Nephrology Clinic, you will also be involved in the overall administration of outpatient TakeCare. A large part of your working hours will be spent on the administration of doctor appointments and patient bookings. You will also work clinically about two days a week with, for example, telephone counseling, day care, and nurse appointments.

Qualifications

Licensed nurse. Documented leadership experience is an asset but not a requirement. It is also an asset if you have previous experience in nephrology care and/or have worked in outpatient services. Experience in operational development within digitization is an asset.

A tailored introduction based on your previous experiences.

Hospital-wide leadership program for new managers and leaders. Stepwise training in nephrology care if you lack this. After 6 months, you will be offered a 5-day introductory training in Nephrology Care. This can later be supplemented with an advanced training and a credit course in Nephrology Care of 15 higher education credits.
