Our workplace

The Northern Västerbotten operational area is a unit with about 60 employees located in Skellefteå, Lycksele, Vilhelmina, and Storuman. The unit is divided into three sections. Our clients are job seekers and employers in Northern Västerbotten, which may involve some travel to our 9 municipalities to meet on-site when needed. Our main mission is to equip, match, and support job seekers on their path to work and/or studies, as well as assist employers in finding workforce and thereby contribute to skills supply and a functioning labor market.

Job Description

As an Employment Officer, you will focus on job seekers and employers, and you will be an important support for them, making a difference every day. A central part of the job is to inform and communicate about the Employment Agency's mission, services, rights, and obligations. The work requires curiosity with the ability to make the difficult simple.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working more deeply with individuals who, for various reasons, have difficulty entering the labor market. Your tasks will include identifying job seekers' skills, obstacles, and motivations to find, obtain, retain, or return to employment. After identification, concrete measures will be developed that must be coordinated and collaborated with relevant partners and authorities. The work may also include guidance, training initiatives, or development of job search strategies. You are expected to stay updated on the labor market and employers' recruitment needs.

The position is a permanent full-time employment that may start with a six-month probationary period. The place of employment is Skellefteå.

Basic requirements for the position

• University/college education of at least 180 higher education credits (120 credits according to the previous system)
• Alternatively, you have been employed as an employment officer at the Employment Agency and are assessed to have good prospects of meeting today's requirements for employment officers
• And at least 2 years of work experience, collectively working at least 50 percent for a total of 2 years
• Good knowledge of Swedish, that is, good ability to communicate in speech and writing, as well as high reading comprehension
• Driving license B

Other merits for the position

• Experience working with labor-oriented rehabilitation and/or with target groups that have disabilities or other special needs
• Experience building and maintaining external collaborations, for example with companies and other actors in the labor market
