If necessary, we will train you when you start your employment as a timber measurer. Your training will take place in close contact with your manager, colleagues, and quality leaders.

Job Description

You will work at the heating plant “BKV Rya” which belongs to Göteborg Energi and is located in Hisingen, Gothenburg, which will also be the stationing location for the position.

The assignment is completely new, and the measuring site is currently being built, which means there will be a startup period before all pieces fall into place.

The working hours will currently be two shifts, 38 hours/week Monday to Friday, one week you will work mornings and the next week afternoons. It may also become daytime, i.e., 40 hours/week during the summer season. Annual working hours may be applied.

During the winter season, your tasks will mainly consist of sampling and volume measurement of bark, chips, return chips, and logging residues from the forest (GROT) upon receipt of deliveries. It also includes reporting in the measuring site system, area overview, and other tasks assigned by the customer as well as other tasks occurring at the measuring station such as some cleaning and administration. Some driving of wheel loaders may also be included after approved training.

During the summer season, no raw materials are received, which means that other services such as general cleaning and maintenance of outdoor areas, fire watch, and lighter maintenance will be relevant. This is provided that there is no need for timber measurers in the district.

As a trained timber measurer, you will be responsible for the daily operations at the measuring station and have ongoing contact with both drivers and customers. The work must be carried out according to our core values, that is, in a reliable, impartial, and engaged manner. Of course, we do it together!

Who are you?

You are engaged, professional, trustworthy, and can easily see improvement opportunities to make your job better in everyday life. Furthermore, you need to be comfortable working in practical tasks and in digital systems as well as being able to communicate in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. A prerequisite for the position is that you have a B driver's license and access to your own car.

Desirable/Meritorious

Forestry knowledge and experience in timber measurement are considered meritorious but are not a requirement. It is desirable that you can communicate in English.
