Main Mission
The mission of the Community is to enhance the quality of life for residents and their ability to influence their living conditions. Together, the activities of the main mission create conditions for good health, an attractive, accessible, and vibrant urban environment, countryside and nature, a safe and healthy indoor and outdoor environment, a rich offering of culture, sports, leisure, and good infrastructure.
As an environmental inspector, you are part of the municipality's Environmental Unit. The unit consists of a total of 17 people working with assessment and supervision within the entire scope of the Environmental Code. The unit is part of the Environmental and Food operation, which is included in the Community's Main Mission.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As an environmental inspector focusing on health protection, you will be part of a group with two other experienced colleagues working with health protection supervision. The job consists of various tasks within the health protection area, such as inspections, investigation of complaints, and processing notifications for activities that require notification. The supervision takes place at both private and municipal operations and has a wide variety ranging from small individual firms to large property companies. We inspect, for example, property owners, hygienic operations, preschools, schools, nursing homes, swimming pools, and sports facilities. The setup of the inspections varies from more thorough reviews of self-monitoring to unannounced visits to the operations. The workgroup plans the setup of the inspections themselves, making it a flexible and varied job.
We offer you a pleasant workplace with varied tasks. During a workweek, you will combine administrative tasks and field inspections with collaboration both internally and externally.

QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a university degree as an environmental and health protection inspector or other education deemed equivalent.
You have worked as an environmental inspector for a few years in the health protection area, but experience in other areas of supervision is also an advantage.
Knowledge of the Environmental Code is a prerequisite for the job. To perform the tasks, a valid driver's license (B) is necessary, and the workplace provides a car.
We place great emphasis on your personal qualities. You need to be able to work independently while also having the ability and willingness to collaborate and reach consensus with your colleagues and work solution-oriented.
The job also involves a lot of contact with companies and private individuals with different circumstances. Therefore, it also places high demands on integrity, professionalism, and service orientation, and you should have a good demeanor regardless of who you are dealing with. You need to be able to make factual and objective assessments and set clear requirements to achieve the purpose of the Environmental Legislation. This means you need to express yourself well in both speech and writing and be able to explain complex legal requirements in an adapted, simple, and understandable way. You need to have good knowledge of the Swedish language.
It is important that you are self-driven, have a careful and structured working method, and a good ability to interpret legal texts and motivate as well as communicate well-founded decisions.
