Main Mission

The purpose of the Community is to increase residents' quality of life and their ability to influence their living conditions. Together, the activities of the main mission create conditions for good health, an attractive, accessible, and vibrant urban environment, countryside and nature, a safe and healthy indoor and outdoor environment, a rich supply of culture, sports, leisure, and good infrastructure.

As an environmental inspector, you will be part of the municipality's Environmental Unit. The unit consists of a total of 17 people working with assessment and supervision within the entire scope of the Environmental Code. The unit is part of the Environmental and Food operation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The green sector is significant in the municipality with more than 500 agricultural enterprises, of which about half engage in crop production and the rest operate with animal production units such as chicken and pig farms, horse farms, and dairy farms.

As an environmental inspector focusing on agriculture, you will collaborate with a colleague within agricultural supervision. The work is varied and involves many contacts and inspections with farmers. The job also includes processing various applications such as sludge spreading permits and notifications of environmentally hazardous activities.

If you have not already participated in a qualification course for using plant protection products, you will be offered to attend the County Administrative Board's basic course.

We offer you a pleasant workplace with varied tasks. During a workweek, you will combine administrative tasks and inspections in the field with collaboration both internally and externally.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a university degree as an environmental and health protection inspector or other education deemed equivalent.

You have worked as an environmental inspector for a few years within agricultural supervision, but experience in other areas of supervision or agriculture is also meritorious.

Knowledge of the Environmental Code is a prerequisite for the job. To perform the tasks, a B driver's license is necessary, and the workplace provides a car.

We place great emphasis on your personal qualities. You need to be able to work independently while also having the ability and willingness to achieve consensus and collaborate with your colleagues and work solution-oriented.

The work also involves a lot of contact with businesses and individuals with different circumstances. This therefore also places high demands on integrity, professionalism, and service orientation, and that you have a good attitude regardless of who you are dealing with. You need to be able to make factual and objective assessments and set clear requirements to achieve the purpose of the Environmental legislation. This means you need to express yourself well in speech and writing and be able to explain complex legal requirements in an adapted, simple, and understandable way. You need to have a good command of the Swedish language. It is important that you are self-driven, have a careful and structured way of working, and a good ability to interpret legal texts and justify as well as communicate well-founded decisions.
