Summer Substitute as a Nursing Assistant at Kungälv Hospital

The Hospitals in the West is an administration within the Västra Götaland Region and consists of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Local Hospital, Högsbo Local Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. Approximately 3000 employees work with us every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare of the highest quality.

About Ward 6 at Kungälv Hospital

We are part of the Geriatrics, Neurology, and Rehabilitation business area, and you will find us at Kungälv Hospital.

On the ward, we primarily care for stroke and hip patients but also patients with other internal medical diagnoses.

During the summer, we will merge our two geriatric wards, stroke and geriatric orthopedic acute care, so you will meet patients with several different types of diagnoses.

Working Methods

As a nursing assistant with us, you will work with the acute phase of care in the stroke process and the management of patients admitted to the ward. Our GOA patients (geriatric orthopedic ward) are being prepared for or have just undergone hip surgery and have a significant care need on the ward.

As a summer substitute with us, we can offer you the opportunity to work all hours of the day with nursing assistants and nurses. You will also work alongside doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and dietitians to best meet the patient's needs.

All patients are cared for in their own rooms equipped with the latest technology in the field. Here, we actively work to ensure that all employees from different professions are offered the best conditions to utilize each other's and the patients' resources and competencies. The ward is equipped with an advanced patient call system that contributes to a quiet care environment.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a nursing assistant, preferably with experience in stroke care, orthopedics, or elderly care.

If you are a student in the nursing program, you need to have completed semester 4 depending on your educational program.

Protected Professional Title for Nursing Assistants

As of July 1, 2023, the title of nursing assistant is a protected professional title. This means that you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant within healthcare and social services.
