The Oxback unit consists of two municipal schools, Oxback School (F-3) and Mariekäll School (4-9). Both schools are centrally located in Södertälje municipality and have a high application rate. Today we have about 800 students and 85 employees. We are a multicultural school and constantly work to develop and improve our methods to meet all students' needs.

Learning and safety are our focus, and we regularly work with monitoring results and attendance for all students. We have an active student health team that supports both students and staff in their daily work. The school's core values are based on a culture of responsibility where it is important for everyone to participate in defining needs and prioritizing together according to available resources.

Are you a solution-oriented person with an interest in IT who enjoys practical work? We at the Oxback unit are looking for a dedicated and responsible employee for a combined position as IT Coordinator and caretaker.

Your tasks

The position is divided into two main areas:

IT Coordinator (70%)

As the IT Coordinator, you will be responsible for the school's technical equipment, support staff and students, and handle IT administration. Your tasks include:
- IT support for students and staff, including troubleshooting and repairing iPads, computers, and software.
- Managing the school's network, printers, projectors, and other IT equipment – troubleshooting, reporting issues, and following up on cases.
- Being the contact person for the municipality's IT group, staying updated on guidelines and news.
- Responsible for IT during digital exams and managing accounts and permissions for students.
- Administering IT systems by registering devices, ordering equipment and licenses, and collecting and archiving computer agreements.
- Generating and managing student passwords at the start of the school year and assisting with locked accounts.
- Introducing new employees and students to the school's IT environment, login systems, and tools.

Caretaking (30%)

As a caretaker, you ensure that the school's premises and outdoor environment are well-maintained, safe, and functional. Tasks include:
- Daily safety rounds, where you check the school's premises, outdoor environment, and evacuation routes, and report damages, graffiti, and slip hazards.
- Monthly fire inspections in REQS and ensuring that emergency exits, signage, and safety information are correctly posted.
- Managing access and alarm systems, including keys and tags.
- Maintenance and minor repairs of the school's furnishings, including assembly and replacement of broken furniture.
- Inventory of premises, furnishings, and schoolyard, as well as planning improvement measures.
- Contact person for property owners, contractors, and subcontractors, as well as following up on reported issues and maintenance work.
 

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is technically skilled, handy, and flexible. You are service-oriented and enjoy varied tasks. We prefer that you have experience in IT support and/or a background in property maintenance or other practical work. You are well-versed in software within the Office suite and have a good ability to handle Excel and compile data. You are a problem solver who enjoys taking responsibility and working independently.

Personal qualities:
- You are technically skilled and have a very good understanding of IT and technology.
- You have practical skills and can handle maintenance and minor repairs of property and furnishings.
- You are service-oriented and enjoy helping others with IT and/or practical tasks within the organization.

Requirements:
- You have experience in IT support and technical troubleshooting, which has laid the foundation for a good knowledge of computers, networks, printers, software management, and digital systems.
- You are self-sufficient and can solve technical and practical problems on your own.
- You are flexible and can switch between tasks of different natures based on the organization's needs.

Meritorious:
- Previous experience working in a school and knowledge of the school's needs.
- Good ability to handle Excel and compile data.
- Experience in property maintenance and safety work.

The position is 100% and is a fixed-term employment for 1 year with the possibility of extension.
