Lerum is only a 20-minute commute from Gothenburg and is currently facing an intensive development period with many exciting projects underway, ranging from schools to housing. The municipality works to ensure good service, high welfare, and a thriving business climate.

Welcome to work in Home Care this summer!

You will work on a schedule during period 1 (weeks 26-29), period 2 (weeks 30-33), or both periods. We can offer either full-time or part-time positions. We have four home care groups, a night patrol, and a senior service unit. As a summer substitute, you will be placed in one of the operations.

The work shifts are scheduled for days and evenings, weekdays and weekends. The earliest a shift can start is at 07:00 and it ends no later than 22:00.

For those with previous work experience in support and care, there is an opportunity to work awake nights in our Night Patrol, from 21:45 to 07:00.

Introduction

Before your first shift, you will be introduced by a supervisor at the workplace, where you will learn about tasks, routines, and the needs of the users. You will also complete online training. Since medication management is part of the tasks, you will also undergo training in medication delegation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In home care, you support the care recipients according to their needs at home. You perform service tasks and practical care work independently but maintain regular contact with colleagues and coordinators. Sometimes you work in pairs.

You always start from what the user needs and contribute to their well-being and a valuable and secure everyday life. Examples of common tasks include:

  • providing support in everyday situations, such as going for walks
  • assisting with showering and toilet visits
  • cleaning and laundry
  • distributing medication
  • health and medical tasks according to instructions and delegation from a nurse
  • documentation in administrative systems

Night Patrol

For those with previous experience in home care, there is an opportunity to work awake nights in the Night Patrol. You will go directly to the user’s home, but sometimes you work in pairs. You will drive a manual transmission car in urban and rural areas.

QUALIFICATIONS

To thrive in home care, you need to be a social person who is confident in yourself and enjoys working alone. You are solution-oriented, have your own drive, and dare to take initiative in your work.

You are a person with a genuine interest in individuals. Your empathetic ability and understanding of integrity ensure that our care recipients have a safe and valuable everyday life and receive respectful treatment from you. Of course, you provide good service and find it easy to collaborate with others.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. If you have education and previous experience in care and support, it is an advantage. The tasks include documentation and communication with care recipients, colleagues, and other parties, which requires good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.

To work in home care, you need to have a B driver's license, but there are a few positions where a driver's license is not required. Instead, you will use an electric bicycle.

Before an employment offer, an acceptable extract from the Police Authority's criminal record must be presented. You will order the criminal record yourself. Once you have submitted your application, you will receive more information in the auto-reply as well as a link to the police's website for ordering.

You do not need to attach a cover letter for this recruitment.

Warm welcome with your application!
