R3 Platoon is looking for rescue soldiers, fieldwork soldiers, and material soldiers
Applicant Unit
The R3 Platoon is part of the R3 Company at Norrbotten Air Force Wing, F 21. The company has two fundamental main tasks: to contribute to the unit's ability to provide take-off and landing opportunities for our aircraft and helicopters, and to train the unit's conscripts.
The company must be able to establish and operate air bases anywhere in Sweden or abroad.
The R3 Platoon consists of two troops, the Rescue Troop and the Field Maintenance Troop. The main tasks of the platoon are conscript training, airport rescue service, field maintenance service, ammunition clearance, and decontamination of chemical warfare agents.
Main Tasks
Material Soldier
The main task of the material soldier is to support the platoon's material master in creating conditions for the platoon to operate through corrective and preventive maintenance on the platoon's vehicles and equipment. During daily operations, you are also expected to support the conscript training.
- Contact and follow-up with military and civilian workshops and maintenance locations.

Rescue Soldier
The main task of the rescue soldier is to be able to conduct live rescue operations. During daily operations, you are also expected to support the conscript training.
- Operational rescue service for military aviation.
- CBRN
Field Maintenance Soldier
The main task of the field maintenance soldier, together with the field maintenance leader, is to ensure that the air base is open regardless of the weather. During daily operations, you are also expected to support the conscript training.
- Maintain and operate military air bases
- Ammunition clearance and blasting service
- Operate heavy machinery such as wheel loaders, excavators, and CE
Your employment will begin with basic training for the position. You will continue to develop through training where you can choose to deepen your knowledge in the troop's many areas of competence, e.g., further training in the handling of hazardous substances (CBRN), blasting service, ammunition clearance, chainsaw, wheel loader, and the platoon's reinforcement weapons.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who is hardworking, flexible, and can work independently under physical strain. Regardless of background, the most important thing is that you are a team player. You are careful and responsible as the position often involves working within smaller units for periods. You tackle problems directly when they arise, and you have a good ability to read when it is time to be on and off duty.

Requirements
- Completed Conscription, GMU, or GU with a passing grade
- Driver's license B
Personal Qualities
- High personal maturity as the position places great demands on judgment and integrity
- Good ability to work in a team
- High learning ability due to intensive training and exercises
- High flexibility as the training and operational environment is often dynamic
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
Meritorious
- Basic trained or previously employed airfield worker or rescue soldier.
- Other well-rated military service, e.g., BFA or service in standby units.
- C/CE or military driver's license for heavy truck & heavy trailer.
- Wheel loader according to TYA/BYN or military driver's license
- Experience working in the PRIO system.

The positions are temporary full-time employment. The employment is governed by the Swedish Armed Forces' agreement for group leaders, soldiers, and sailors (GSS/K) and begins with a 6-month probationary period that transitions into an employment of up to 8 years with the possibility of a 4-year extension.

Work and training at other locations may occur.

Norrbotten Air Force Wing, F 21, is Sweden's northernmost air wing. The main base is in Luleå, with side bases in Jokkmokk and Vidsel. F 21 continuously trains to deliver the following air operational capabilities in peace, crisis, and war:
