Production Controller for International Defense Industry Company

SJR is now hiring a Production Controller for a long-term consulting assignment of 10 months with our client located in Järfälla. The assignment is to start as soon as possible and there is an option for hybrid work. For this assignment, we are looking for someone who wants to be an employed consultant with SJR, receiving a monthly salary and pension according to collective agreements.

About the Position

We are looking for a business-driven and analytical Production Controller for a leading international company in the defense industry. You will be part of the finance department and work closely with production to ensure effective financial management. Here, you will play a key role in analyzing, following up, and optimizing production processes from a financial perspective.

Main Responsibilities

• Analyze and support production to ensure business and financial goal achievement.
• Review production plans and identify risks and areas for improvement, such as capital tied up in inventory.
• Participate in the production management group and act as a financial advisor to the production manager.
• Follow up on manufacturing costs and calculation differences in collaboration with project leaders.
• Develop and analyze calculation models for production and manufacturing costs.
• Support project managers and Business Controllers in understanding transactions and connections between financial systems.
• Monitor production and material overhead costs and provide support in line economics and indirect costs.
• Be responsible for financial monthly reporting for production.
• Drive and coordinate issues related to investment requests.
• Specialize in business systems such as IFS, Agresso, and other IT tools.

Suitable Background

• At least three years of experience as a controller, preferably within production or manufacturing.
• Strong analytical skills and a business-oriented drive.
• Ability to challenge and improve existing processes.
• A post-secondary education in finance (e.g., bachelor’s degree in economics).
• Good understanding of production flows and business processes.
• Very good knowledge of Excel and experience with financial systems (IFS and Agresso are advantageous).
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Personal Qualities

We are looking for a communicative and proactive person with at least three years of experience in controlling. You enjoy taking responsibility, questioning existing processes, and driving improvements. With strong analytical skills, you effectively identify areas for development and translate insights into concrete actions. You have a solid financial background, preferably as a bachelor’s or master’s in economics, and a good understanding of both production and business operations. Your ability to prioritize and work systematically allows you to drive continuous improvements with a focus on efficiency. Furthermore, you have very good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and are fluent in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing. Experience with IFS and Agresso is advantageous but not a requirement.
