The Education Administration is responsible for the municipality's childcare and educational activities from preschool and leisure to preschool class, primary school, adapted school, upper secondary school, adult education, and various commissioned training programs. Our vision is that every student leaves school rich in knowledge and convinced of their ability to create their future together with others. All students should also remember their school time as safe, fun, and educational. The various activities of the Education Administration have a clear common focus on all children and students' conditions for completing their studies.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are now strengthening support for preschool with a speech therapist! The team's mission is to support children's development and learning towards the educational goals and to create good conditions for all our children in preschool. Through cross-professional collaboration and together with preschool staff, teamwork contributes to promoting children's learning, development, and health.

Your tasks will include contributing knowledge about children's language development to child health work in various ways. You will work with promoting and preventive measures at the individual, group, and organizational levels. At the request of the principal, you will provide consultation, supervision, and professional development for staff.

The speech therapist provides specific knowledge about accessible learning environments and language-promoting methods. Together with the principal, routines will be developed to increase the quality of preschool's work regarding children's language development. Furthermore, it includes collaborating with other stakeholders regarding children in need of extensive support measures and for early coordinated interventions for preschool-aged children.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a licensed speech therapist with solid experience and competence within preschool operations. You have experience working with supervision/consultation and knowledge of the preschool curriculum and other relevant governing documents. Your experience also includes professional development initiatives in TAKK (Signs as Alternative and Complementary Communication) and creating accessible learning environments for children with neuropsychiatric variations. It is advantageous if you have special educational competence.

To succeed in the role of speech therapist, you should have a good ability to translate theories into practice to strengthen the preschool's language-promoting approach and learning environments. The assignment requires independence; you act on your own based on what the situation requires within the framework of your assignment. It is also of great importance that you have a good ability to explain complex situations from different perspectives in a pedagogical manner to remove barriers to learning.

You find it easy to collaborate and create good working relationships with an outgoing approach. You are engaged, professional, and proactive. In independent work, you easily create systems and routines. As a person, you easily build personal relationships and work for safety and well-being. You communicate and work in a trustworthy and relational manner in the organization. You have a positive basic attitude and take responsibility for the whole.
