Technical Engineer in Safety for Railway Signaling Systems Job Responsibilities

The European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS) is a new signaling system for the entire Swedish railway. The system replaces an outdated facility, simplifies traffic management and maintenance, and facilitates cross-border traffic in the long run. The new signaling system drives digitalization within the railway and is a prerequisite for high-speed railways and future automation.

As a Technical Engineer focusing on Safety, you will support and assist the technical specialists in traffic safety. You will play an important role in ensuring that our technical specifications for the ERTMS signaling system maintain a high level of safety and comply with all relevant standards and regulations. Daily tasks include reviewing requirements specifications or other documentation, as well as participating in and conducting risk analyses and method development to ensure that our system deliveries can demonstrate traceability and can be verified in a safe and correct manner as needed. As you increase your competence, you will gradually take on greater responsibility and independently lead smaller projects, and hopefully transition to becoming a Specialist over time.

We are looking for someone who has

• A degree as a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (180 credits) or education and experience that we consider equivalent.
• Experience in signaling systems for railways and/or traffic safety
• Experience working with RAMS goals
• A good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English

It is advantageous if you have

• Experience working with risk analysis methodology
