Description

The Pharmacy at VGR Skaraborg Hospital (SkaS) is part of the regional Pharmacy VGR and is responsible for the overall pharmaceutical work at Skaraborg Hospital.

Here, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy assistants work together. Our mission includes responsibility for pharmaceutical supply, medication management, product assortment, clinical pharmacy, information, and education in close collaboration with healthcare operations. The unit is also responsible for the production of extemporaneous medications and cytostatics for the care units. Skaraborg Hospital includes hospitals in Skövde, Lidköping, Falköping, and Mariestad.

Work with clinical pharmacy has been introduced at SkaS in recent years, and both departmental pharmacy and clinical pharmacy are now an integral part of the work in several care units. We are now looking for someone who wants to work with both of these areas together with us.

If you want to be part of our operation, you could be the one we are looking for!

Responsibilities

The responsibilities will mainly consist of clinical pharmacy, but work with departmental pharmacy will also occur.

In the role of clinical pharmacist, your tasks will include medication reconciliations and medication reviews. You will also serve as a support for healthcare staff, particularly doctors, in the care unit.

The position also includes work within departmental pharmacy where you participate in the daily work on care wards to relieve nurses and contribute to increased quality. Responsibilities include:

  • preparation of oral and parenteral medications on the care unit
  • preparation of medications for patients at discharge or those going home on leave
  • ensuring that the patient's prescribed medications are available in the unit
  • maintaining good order in the medication storage
  • being a support in medication-related questions

Insight into the Pharmacy's other operations is included in the introduction to understand how we work, regarding routines and how the organization is structured. Work with these tasks may also become relevant as a complement to clinical pharmacy.

Qualifications

You must be a licensed pharmacist and have passed the courses in Advanced Pharmacotherapy and Clinical Pharmacy. Previous experience with medication reviews is an advantage.

The work requires that you are flexible, engaged, and able to work independently. Good IT skills are also required.

You should:

  • have a good ability to collaborate in teams with various professional groups and easily create new contacts and good relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and other partners
  • identify improvement opportunities in your daily work within the pharmaceutical area and have a genuine interest in development work and quality issues
  • express yourself easily in speech and writing
  • have a strong commitment to issues related to medication management

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Other

Interviews will be conducted continuously, so do not wait to apply!
