Specialist Doctor in Internal Medicine or Geriatrics

NU Healthcare is part of the Västra Götaland Region and is one of Sweden's larger county hospitals. We are located at NÄL (Norra Älvsborg County Hospital) in Trollhättan and Uddevalla Hospital. The hospital's catchment area includes 280,000 residents. Together, we are about 5,000 employees who work every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare. We are located on the west coast, and our area offers varied nature with both sea, mountains, forests, and lakes.

We are now looking for someone with a particular interest in team-based work and elderly patients!

About us

We have two care departments, Mäva 1 and 2. Here, we provide internal medicine care for patients over 75 years old, ranging from deterioration of chronic conditions to various acute conditions.

We strive to work according to the CGA model, Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment, with a multi-professional team approach around the patient. Close collaboration with local healthcare teams, ambulances, and health centers in Fyrbodal occurs to facilitate patient transitions.

At MÄVA, there is a portable ultrasound machine available and the possibility for telemetry and Bipap treatment.

From Uddevalla Hospital, two local healthcare teams are connected to the Mävorna. These teams have Fyrbodal as their catchment area and function as an intermediate level between inpatient and primary care. The operation is also responsible for work at the diagnostic center, where standardized care pathways for serious unspecified symptoms are investigated.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a qualified specialist in Internal Medicine and/or Geriatrics. You should have a strong interest in multi-morbidity and team-based work. As a person, you are engaged, flexible, and have personal maturity, which makes you secure in your professional role. You have good communication skills and enjoy working in a team.
