Mälarbacken is a care and nursing home for the elderly over 65 years old.
At Mälarbacken, 282 people live with various focuses including dementia, somatic care, psychiatric profile housing, as well as short-term and respite care. Mälarbacken is an academic node, which means we accept students for practical training. We collaborate with colleges/universities and the Elderly Administration. Mälarbacken is located in a scenic area and is easily accessible by car, bus, or subway.

Your role
The short-term and respite care unit is now seeking a full-time nurse at 100%. We are a department with a high tempo as there are admissions and discharges almost every day. Short-term placements are usually from the hospital and geriatrics. Respite care comes from home and has different intervals when they stay here. Standard nursing tasks with an HSL responsibility, staffing responsibility on evenings and weekends. The assignment involves a lot of collaboration and contacts with health centers, hospitals, and case managers. Nurses lead the nursing staff, delegate tasks, follow up on them, and participate in the development of the unit together with the assistant unit manager. The unit has 26 apartments for both somatic and dementia care. There are 2-3 nurses working during the day, and on evenings and weekends, 1 nurse works on the unit together with nursing staff, physiotherapist, and occupational therapist.
Your qualifications and experience
You are a licensed nurse, and it is advantageous if you have any additional training in geriatrics and experience working in a similar setting or in acute care for at least 1 year.
You have the ability to see the whole picture, are relationship-building, and have empathetic skills towards residents and relatives. You are structured and quality-conscious in the HSL assignment.
You are loyal to decisions made and have the ability to collaborate both internally and externally.
You can easily prioritize and plan your work, delegate tasks, and also follow up on quality.
Other
As a nurse, you are the leader for the nursing assistants in the care work. On weekends and evenings, you are responsible for staffing the unit. Scheduled working hours, day, evening, and weekend.
The position is available after an agreed start date. The City of Stockholm works with competency-based recruitment aimed at considering each person's competence and thus counteracting discrimination.
To work with the elderly and people with disabilities in their homes at the City of Stockholm, you must provide a criminal record extract. The extract should not be older than 6 months from the date of issue.
