The Health and Elderly Administration in Borås City works towards the goal that both younger and older residents in need of care, support, and service, as well as health care and preventive health work, should have a good life every day.

The administration consists of about 2,500 employees, of which about 700 work within the municipal home care service.

We who work in home care Sjöbo are a wonderful team consisting of nursing assistants, caregivers, service assistants, managers, coordinators, and home care coordinators. With us, men and women from different backgrounds work, enriching our operations and broadening our competence.

Home care Sjöbo is based in pleasant and nice premises at Klintegatan 20 B, in the Sjöbo district of Borås. The work primarily takes place within the Sjöbo district and surrounding areas, where we mainly travel by car or electric bicycle.

Job Responsibilities

Working in home care is about doing something truly important. A job that is meaningful and fun, where you make a difference every day! Therefore, it is important for us that you have a great interest in working with people.

As a nursing assistant in home care Sjöbo, you will work closely with people in need of care and support in their own homes. The tasks include personal care, assistance during meals, social interaction, and walks. You will also perform health and medical tasks by delegation and document in our journal systems.

With us, it is the service assistant who is primarily responsible for performing service tasks such as cleaning and laundry, so you can focus on providing good care and building strong relationships.

As a nursing assistant in home care, you will also be a fixed care contact. This means that you actively work to create secure relationships based on trust and individualized coordinated home care efforts. The work is varied, and you work both independently and together with colleagues. The job requires a high level of commitment and active participation to develop and improve the operations.

The working hours are scheduled for weekdays, evenings, and weekends, including major holidays.

Qualifications

You are a trained nursing assistant with an interest in working with people. By being attentive to individual needs and providing a good response, you create good and safe care and support. To succeed in the role, you are responsible and engaged, with the ability to understand other people's situations. You have the ability to collaborate, create, and maintain good relationships with both clients, relatives, and colleagues.

The job requires you to be able to speak and write in Swedish and that you can cycle. Our operational and documentation systems are essential for us to fulfill our mission, so you need to have basic digital competence.

Great importance is placed on personal suitability.

A driving license (B) is required.

As of July 1, 2023, nursing assistant is a protected professional title. This means that a professional certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare is required to hold the title of nursing assistant. You apply for the certificate on the National Board of Health and Welfare's website. If you have care and nursing education according to the National Board of Health and Welfare's regulations but have not yet received the professional certificate, you can instead be employed with the title of care assistant. If you have caregiver training, you will be employed as a caregiver.

We primarily intend to hire permanently, but a fixed-term employment in the form of a temporary position or special fixed-term employment may also be relevant.
