Description

The Palliative Team is a hospital-wide specialized team that caters to patients with incurable diseases and end-of-life care.

The team is a resource for the general palliative care provided at SkaS, in primary care, and in municipalities. The team is interdisciplinary and consists of nurses and doctors, with access to a dietitian and a social worker. Another important task for the team members is education and patient-related supervision, which contributes to improving the quality of palliative care in general across all healthcare and social services in the region.

At SkaS, there is also a specialized palliative care unit with eight beds, allowing for integration between the team and the unit both in terms of care techniques and staffing.

Responsibilities

As a nurse in the team, your primary responsibility is patient management. You will be responsible for the patient, providing advice and support to the patient, their relatives, and healthcare staff in hospitals, municipalities, and primary care. Contact occurs through phone calls, home visits, and outpatient visits. Your work includes providing information, education, and supervision to healthcare staff at the hospital and other providers. You will work both in a team and individually. You will also work every 6th weekend in the palliative unit.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has worked as a nurse for a few years, is humble, empathetic, and confident in their nursing role. You have the personal suitability to care for severely ill and dying patients. We prefer that you have experience in palliative care, pain management, oncology, and it is an advantage if you have experience in municipal operations where you have previously been responsible for patients. We wish for you to contribute to the development and improvement of our operations. You should be comfortable speaking in front of groups and have a pedagogical approach.

You should be accustomed to working with independent assessments and advice. You should also have an easy time collaborating and cooperating within the workgroup and in the healthcare operations. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Possession of a driver's license for passenger cars, category B, is a requirement as driving is part of the job.
