The student health service should be seen as an area of operation where medical, psychological, psychosocial, and special educational interventions are included and are part of the school's learning mission and the overall work for good health. The promoting and preventive work should be emphasized and conducted in a salutogenic manner with an inclusive approach.

Job Responsibilities
You will belong to the central student health service in the municipality, your colleagues in the student health service are school social workers, school nurses, school doctors, special educators, school psychologists, and administrators. Close and developing collaboration within the central student health service is an important and fundamental part of the work. You will be placed at one or more of the municipality's schools. There, you usually work alone, but with the support of colleagues, which requires a high degree of independence.

As a school nurse in Gällivare municipality, you will work with a health-promoting and preventive perspective. Your tasks include health visits and vaccinations according to the basic program. You also have your own open reception for simpler healthcare tasks and consultations together with the school doctor. You are part of the school's student health team and contribute medical and nursing competence to the student health work.

The work as a school nurse is varied, and you collaborate with internal and external actors such as social services and the region.

Qualifications
Specialist nursing program with a focus on health and medical care for children and adolescents or specialist nursing program with a focus on district nursing or school nursing. Previous experience in student health is an advantage. A good communicative ability and social competence are of utmost importance as the work involves many contacts with students, parents, staff, and principals.

The position requires a B driver's license and access to a personal vehicle.

Upon employment – a certificate from the police's criminal record register.

Great importance is placed on personal suitability.
Within the framework of the national minority language law, Gällivare municipality is the administrative municipality for Sami, Meänkieli, and Finnish. Knowledge of any of these languages is an advantage when applying for employment in Gällivare municipality.

Working Hours/Duration
We are looking for a 100% position as a school nurse. You will have a vacation position with a flexible working hours agreement.

Trial employment will be applied for the position.
